Coaches Convention Blog
Our Total Baseball instructors continue to add to their already impressive resumes. At the beginning of the new year, Total Baseball’s Jeremy Gooding took a trip down to Dallas, Texas to learn a thing or two. After spending 4 days in the big D, Gooding certainly came home with a lot more than a few baseball tips and tricks.
Besides being an instructor here at Total Baseball, Jeremy also is the varsity pitching coach at Dearborn Divine Child high school. Jeremy got the opportunity to attend the 2014 American Coaches Baseball Association’s convention. This yearly event houses numerous high ranking coaches whose lists of achievements are never-ending.
Aside from being able to have personal conversations with numerous division one collegiate coaches, Jeremy was able to hear great keynote speakers. John Savage, UCLA’s current head coach and reigning division-one NCAA champion, was on hand to speak to the crowd. As was one of the greatest managers in Major League Baseball history, and recent Hall of Fame elective, Tony LaRussa, who also was a speaker. As one could assume, Gooding was all ears and gained an immense amount of knowledge listening to such knowledgeable baseball figures.
Hearing how to tackle different personalities and get through to all different types of players really struck a cord with Jeremy. Leaving that conference, Gooding was, and remains, very excited to share his now deeper wealth of knowledge with his players.
Jeremy is available for lessons here at Total Baseball. To schedule a lesson with him or any of our other experienced instructors, call 248-668-0166. Individual half hour lessons are $50, and 5 half hour lesson packages are $225.
