Instructor Austin Delmotte recently signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers!  While taking part in a California tryout league, Delmotte was clocked at 94-96 m.p.h., after which the Rangers signed him to the minor league deal.He is looking forward to gaining a roster spot on one of the Rangers’ minor league affiliates.

Austin grew up in Romeo, MI attending Romeo High School where he lettered in both baseball and wrestling. After high school, he spent two years at Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, VA helping the Patriots to a No. 13 national ranking. Delmotte then spent two years playing for Madonna University under Stu Rose before becoming their pitching coach.

Despite having Tommy John surgery, Austin is throwing harder than during his collegiate career. After taking some time off from playing the game, Delmotte decided to pursue his dream and registered for the evaluation league in California where he was noticed by the Rangers.

He’s been an instructor with Total Baseball for the past year, and all in the department and at Total Sports are proud of his accomplishment and wish him the best!
